Hills Youth Theatre proudly presents
Blinky BillAn original Australian musical Book, music and lyrics by Josh SandersBased on the classic stories of Dorothy WallDirected by Di MasonThe Hills Youth Theatre is pleased to announce Blinky Bill as its upcoming June production.
Directed by Di Mason, this entirely original production will feature a script, music and lyrics written by former Hills Youth Theatre student and tutor Josh Sanders. Josh is a music theatre writer, performer and director. He recently appeared in The Full Monty at the National Theatre in Melbourne and is the author of I Won’t Dance, a new Astaire-Rogers musical which premiered at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Ballarat in 2015.
In adapting the classic Australian stories of Dorothy Wall, Josh has written the piece specifically for the Hills Youth Theatre’s large ensemble of kids aged 8 to 15.
Our story follows everyone’s favourite cheeky koala as he sets out with his good friend Nutsy to explore the human world. When Blinky discovers that his gumtree home is under threat from the ‘new humans’, he must rally his Australian wildlife friends to act to protect their home.
Hills Youth Theatre tutor Di Mason is excited to direct, “This is a truly original piece of work in its entirety and I am humbled and privileged that Josh has asked me to direct his show.”
Performances will be held at Stirling Community Theatre,7 Avenue Road, StirlingFriday, 23 June at 7pm,Saturday, 24 June at 6pm,Sunday 25 June at 2pm,Friday 30 June at 7pm,Saturday, 1 July at 6pm,Sunday, 2 July at 2pm
Kids are encouraged to come dressed as their favouritestorybook character for a walk on stage!
